「Grasp the Essentials and Live in Peace」Spatial Aesthetics: Carrying Emotional Value

Aesthetics is not the visual representation of space, but the emotions that are naturally released when you are in it. True spatial aesthetics has nothing to do with style labels; it is only connected to the feelings of the heart.

My previous trip to Vietnam left a deep impression on me. No matter how good something is, if it’s not suitable, it’s useless. Just like food, some people think that having lobster, shark fin, abalone and steak every day is a balanced diet. But they don’t know that what suits our Chinese stomach is the most nourishing.

The same goes for space. Don’t let yourself be confined by labels like “wabi-sabi style” or “industrial style”. True spatial aesthetics is not a static, polished image, but the emotions you release when you are in it. Excellent design is not a mere accumulation of visual elements, but serves the continuous time you spend in this space. If a space fails to bring you into a state of “flow”, it is merely a fancy physical coordinate, not a home, and thus cannot truly nourish or comfort you.

True spatial aesthetics do not define your life; rather, they break free from the shackles of form and create spaces with emotions as the yardstick. Only in this way can people feel at ease and place their true selves, allowing every mood to find its place.

The tea for today is all gone. Next time, I’ll brew a fresh pot and enjoy art with you again.
